Bid deadline extended for Fujairah terminal expansion

Interested parties have until 5 August to submit their bids for Fujairah EPC contract.

Vopak Horizon Fujairah is reported to have extended the deadline for bids on the project to expand its storage facility [pictured] in Fujairah, UAE.

Interested parties have been asked to submit bids for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Sunday, 5 August. The previous deadline was Sunday, 8 July.

The scope of the current EPC contract includes the construction of a jetty, single point mooring, a pipeline, tanks, pumps and other associated facilities.

The latest project is the seventh phase of Vopak Horizon Fujairah's terminal expansion. The previous phase of the project was completed in May, raising the total storage capacity by an additional 600,000 cubic metres to 2.1 million cubic metres (cbm).

Last year, Vopak announced that the additional 600,000 cbm storage, under construction at the time, had already been leased out to third parties. Industry sources said that the new tanks had been leased to BP, ConocoPhillips and Litasco.

Vopak Horizon Fujairah is a joint venture between Horizon Terminals Ltd., Royal Vopak, the Government of Fujairah and Kuwait's Independent Petroleum Group.
