Fujairah terminal boosts capacity


Storage capacity is raised with the addition of a further 600,000 cubic metres.

The storage capacity of the Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd. terminal [pictured] has been raised with the addition of a further 600,000 cubic metres, taking the total storage to 2.1 million cubic metres.

Vopak Horizon Fujairah is a joint venture between Horizon Terminals Ltd., Royal Vopak, the Government of Fujairah and Kuwait's Independent Petroleum Group.

Last year, Royal Vopak revealed that the extra storage had already been leased out prior to the completion of the capacity expansion project.

According to industry sources, the new tanks have been leased to BP, ConocoPhillips and Litasco.
