Bunkers International opens office in Greece

New sales office headed by experienced bunker trader.

Independent marine fuel supplier and trader, Bunkers International Corp., has announced the launch of a new office in Piraeus, Greece.

The business will be run by experienced bunker professional Katerina Kontou, who has over ten years' experience in the marine fuels industry. The new company will operate as Bunkers International Greece and will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bunkers International Corp.

Commenting on the news, John Canal, President of Bunkers International said: "We are very excited about this expansion of our company into a strategically important shipping market like Greece. Our new location will give our customers in this region the local service they desire combined with access to our global network of supply locations."

The new Greek office represents another part of Bunkers International’s 2006 Expansion Plan, which has seen the company launch six new offices over the last five years.

John Canal commented: "I believe that we have found the right leader for this operation in Katerina, and we believe that her unique skill set and time spent in the bunkering industry will benefit our customers and prove invaluable to Bunkers International’s continued growth and success.”

In addition to her bunkering experience, Ms. Kontou holds a Bachelor’s degree in Shipping and Transport from London Guildhall University.

“I have always had great respect for the global team at Bunkers International, and I am thrilled to be joining forces with them,” said Ms. Kontou. “I am looking forward to providing exemplary service to our customers in this region and beyond.”
