Malik Energy has opened a new office in Donsö, Sweden, following its acquisition of the commercial rights of Swedish company Yngve Höglund Trading AB (YHT).

The Denmark-based marine fuel supplier said the integration of the Donsö-based company forms part of its strategy to build partnerships and ensure local service delivery.

"For us, Sweden is a natural market to expand into, and with Andreas Höglund's market knowledge and network, we have established a solid foundation to realise the potential," said Steen Møller, chief executive of Malik Group.

Møller added that the agreement builds on existing cooperation between the companies: "We are especially pleased that the agreement builds on a long-standing cooperation, which now gains even stronger roots. Andreas' decision to become part of our Group is a strong vote of confidence in our organisation and the visions we are striving to realise."

Under the agreement, Andreas Höglund, who previously managed YHT's maritime sector activities, will continue with Malik Energy in his new role.

"Joining an ambitious Group like Malik has confirmed the positive impression of the company and its people that I have built through our cooperation in recent years," Höglund said.

Malik Energy is part of Malik Group, which also includes trading company Malik Supply. The group provides fuel and urea solutions across Denmark via barge, truck, pipeline, and self-service facilities, while Malik Supply offers services to the maritime sector globally.

The company describes its focus as delivering tailored fuel solutions for the maritime sector, with the goal of becoming "the preferred and natural partner for all maritime energy needs."
