In this new global role, Turner will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing quality of Cockett’s supply chain management. He will also keep the company and its clients abreast of any legislative changes affecting the oil and shipping industries.

Commenting on the appointment, Karl Beeson, Group Managing Director at Cockett Marine Oil, said: “Chris’s arrival will enhance our already enviable reputation for the quality of technical support for our customers.

“Having been with the group for more than 30 years Angus has been instrumental in its success and it is an excellent opportunity for Chris to benefit from his vast knowledge of the bunker industry as it goes through a period of consolidation.

“Chris is well known throughout the industry, which, when combined with his technical experience and his proactive approach to working with customers, means he will be an important part in the ongoing growth and value add of Cockett. We are delighted he has joined us.”

Turner added: “Cockett is known for the strength of its management and quality systems. I have worked with many of the team for years while at Inspectorate International and been well aware of the company’s commitment to delivering added value for it customers.
