Lukoil signs bunkering agreement

Lukoil agrees deal to collaborate in the areas of bunkering, oil spill response and port operations.

Russian oil firm Lukoil and Rosmorport have signed a cooperation agreement for both parties to collaborate in the areas of bunkering, port operations, oil spill response and towing.

Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov and Rosmorport CEO Igor Rusu signed the deal earlier this week in Moscow.

As part of the agreement Lukoil and Rosmorport will carry out a feasibility study into the development, reconstruction and operation of transshipment compexes at Russian ports.

Both parties will also collaborate in the construction and operation of oil spill response vessels as part of an overall strategy to improve the security of the transportation of petroleum products.

Lukoil-tank, a subsidiary of the oil firm, will provide the specialized vessels, whilst Rosmorport Bunker will act as a bunker supplier to these ships.
