Chemoil European Director resigns

Recently appointed sales and marketing director will be leaving at the end of this week.

Leading bunker supplier Chemoil has confirmed that the company's recently appointed sales and marketing director of European operations, Michiel Van Eijck, will be leaving at the end of this week for personal reasons.

Speaking to Bunker Index, bunker trader Maurice Elfrink stated that Van Eijck's last official day at the company would be tomorrow and that he was leaving the company becaused "the job didn't give him what he wanted."

Chemoil officially announced Van Eijck's appointment on October 14th, when his role was described as being one where he would focus on sales and business development and "maintain relationships Chemoil has developed with its European customers across its diversified supply chain operations worldwide".

His experience and knowledge of the European energy and logistics markets was expected to bring an outside perspective to the company.

Prior to joining Chemoil, Mr Van Eijck was Director of Mergers and Acquisitions with Dutch energy provider Eneco Holdings N.V. He also previously held managerial roles in sales, sourcing and supply with E.ON Benelux and Vopak Oil Logistics covering the European and the Middle East markets.

Mr Van Eijck holds a Master in Law, Civil Law from the University of Rotterdam.

Elfrink said that he and his colleague Monique Twigt would handle Van Eijck's duties after he leaves the company at the end of this week.
