Venture Energy Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding with CSSC Science & Technology and China Shipbuilding Trading Company to cooperate on green methanol development for the maritime sector.

The agreement, signed in Beijing, establishes a framework for long-term offtake arrangements and capacity development aimed at scaling green methanol as a low-carbon marine fuel.

Venture Energy is part of Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings Limited, a Hong Kong-based shipping company with more than 70 years of history in ship owning, ship management, marine consultancy services and dry bulk operating.

"By bringing together upstream production capabilities and downstream fuel demand, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to practical solutions in the energy transition — integrating production, procurement and investment," Wah Kwong said.

As previously reported, Venture Energy also recently signed a green methanol procurement and supply agreement with Shanghai Shenji Energy & Environmental Technology (Shenji Energy), where Venture Energy agreed to purchase ISCC EU-certified green methanol produced from sustainable biomass feedstocks for shipping clients.
