Propeller Fuels Limited is recruiting a marine fuel trader for its Athens office, the company announced.

The development forms part of a broader hiring drive across its international operations where the UK-based marine fuel supplier is seeking both experienced traders and new industry participants for full-time positions.

According to the firm, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing supply and trading strategies, managing fuel procurement and client acquisition, and monitoring market developments. Daily responsibilities include market analysis, network development, deal negotiation, and implementing group strategies alongside global colleagues.

The role involves collaboration with operations, back office, credit, and finance teams, with opportunities for international travel and network building.

Preferred qualifications include knowledge and experience in fuel trading or shipping, multiple language skills, and strong analytical abilities. The company seeks candidates with negotiation skills, communication abilities, and, ideally, maritime industry experience.

Headquartered near Hull, East Yorkshire, Propeller Fuels performs physical bunker deliveries in numerous ports along the English and Scottish coastlines. Its offices outside the UK are located in Athens, Dubai and Singapore.

Since 2019, when its service was expanded to include international supply, Propeller Fuels says it now has hundreds of customers procuring marine fuel via its network.

The bunker seller notes that it recently achieved ISCC certification, allowing for the sale of biofuel. It also provides EU ETS services and plans to offer FuelEU Maritime compliance through its digital solutions subsidiary, Bridge Markets.

"We have a strong financial position, backed by strong shareholders and bank support which enables us to buy and sell on credit in a multitude of ports around the world," Propeller Fuels added.
