Titan LNG recently bunkered Furetank's vessel, the Fure Vinga, with Bio50 LNG at the port of Amsterdam.

Bio50 LNG comprises 50 percent biogas from European waste streams, creating a fuel that already complies with the IMO 2050 carbon reduction target.

During its maiden voyage, the Fure Vinga was bunkered by supplier Titan LNG in Amsterdam. The vessel is the first of a six-ship armada of next-generation, climate-smart tankers currently under construction.

Titan LNG believes the use of biogas certificates is an affordable, available, and scalable option for LNG-powered ships to further reduce CO2 emissions.

Ronald van Selm, COO of Titan LNG, commented: "On top of LNGs excellent performance on SOx, NOx, and particulate emissions, these carbon emission improvements make LNG the genuine maritime fuel of the future.

"For now, we add biogas certificates from waste streams; and in the near future, physical BioLNG will be available on a larger scale."
