Oil major Total has joined the growing number of companies from a range of ocean industries to become members of the World Ocean Council (WOC) to support global leadership and collaboration on ocean sustainability.

Commenting on the news, Paul Holthus, WOC Executive Director, said: "The World Ocean Council is extremely pleased to welcome Total to our growing alliance as we continue to develop the collaborative actions needed to address the ocean stewardship challenges and opportunities facing ocean industries."

Total is a leading firm in the oil and gas sector and the first French company to become part of the multi-sectoral business alliance on corporate ocean responsibility.
