Piraeus MGO below $900, first time since Feb


MGO price in Piraeus falls below the $900 per tonne mark for the first time in almost three months.



Marine gas oil (MGO) prices in Piraeus dropped to below $900 per tonne for the first time since February today, according to Bunker Index price data.

The price of MGO at Greece's leading bunker port decreased by $31.00 per tonne to $896 today with a low-high range of $895-$898. It is the first time that MGO prices have been below the $900 per tonne mark since rising $17 to $894 per tonne on February 22nd.

Today's price drop means that MGO prices in Piraeus have fallen by $55 per tonne, or 5.8 percent, in the space of only seven days, since rising to $951 per tonne on May 11th.

During the month of May, MGO prices in Piraeus have plummeted $155 per tonne, or 14.7 percent, since starting the month at $1051 per tonne.
