Delegates to discuss concerns and actions that address the issue of marine environment protection.

The North American Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) will be hosting a seminar next week entitled "Environmental Intelligence in Shipping", to be held on March 9th at the Marine Memorial Club in San Francisco, United States.

The seminar will bring together stakeholders in the marine community to discuss concerns and actions that address marine environment protection.

The goal of the discussions will be to create greater awareness of the issues and the work that is being undertaken to mitigate potential problems, and to foster collaboration amongst the stakeholders.

The March seminar will focus on three areas of concern to the marine community, both the commercial maritime industry and conservationists:

—Air Emissions: Challenges and Issues

—Wreck Waste Removal Programs

—Noise Emissions from maritime Activities

The Seminar will begin at 0800 with coffee and registration, and conclude with a luncheon and keynote address by VADM Jody Breckenridge, USCG Commander for the Pacific Area.

The cost to attend the event is $75. Seminar sponsors include: APL Ltd., Blank Rome LLP/LLC, Det Norske Veritas, and Sea Research Foundation.
