German shipbuilder Meyer Werft delivered the cruise ship Disney Destiny to Disney Cruise Line on October 15, with the handover taking place in Eemshaven, the Netherlands.

The vessel represents the sixth ship that Meyer Werft has built for Disney Cruise Line, extending a partnership that began with the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, delivered in 2010 and 2012, respectively.

"We are delighted to deliver the Disney Destiny to Disney Cruise Line today. It is the latest milestone in our long-standing partnership with Disney Cruise Line. I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone involved," said Bernd Eikens, CEO of Meyer Werft.

Eikens signed the delivery documents alongside Joe Schott, President of Disney Signature Experiences. The first passengers are scheduled to board in November.

The newly built LNG-powered vessel follows the 2022 delivery of Disney Wish, which was the first ship in the Wish class. Meyer Werft is currently constructing another sister ship at its Papenburg facility, scheduled for delivery in autumn 2027.

Meyer Werft's current order book extends to 2031 and comprises eight cruise ships and two offshore converter platforms, according to the firm.
