D/S Norden says its marine fuel set-up is "covered worldwide" following the recent launch of its bunker department in Singapore.

Norden now has bunker desks in Asia, Europe and North America, with offices in Annapolis (US), Copenhagen (Denmark), and also Singapore.

As a result of this latest development, the Danish owner-operator believes it is now in a position to "even better serve our local offices, suppliers and traders across different times zones".

The Southeast Asian port is Norden's biggest refuelling location. Last year, the shipping firm purchased more than 300,000 tonnes of bunkers there, with a Norden/Norient Product Pool (NPP) ship calling at Singapore every third day, on average, to discharge or load around 3 million tonnes of cargo in total.

The Singapore bunker desk is managed by Tjalfe Paulsen Durup, who was appointed Senior Bunkers Manager at the city-state earlier this year, in March. Prior to this, he had served as Bunkers Manager and Assistant Bunkers Manager at Norden's headquarters in Hellerup/Copenhagen, Denmark. And before that, he worked as a bunker trader for two years at World Fuel Services.

Norden has had a presence in Singapore - the company's so-called "second home" - since 1996, and the office was recently given a facelift, with the new look marked by an open house event attended by around 60 guests.

Contact details for Norden's bunker desk have been provided below.
