Sing Fuels has announced that applications are now open for a junior bunker trader position.
According to the job posting, the successful candidate will work alongside senior bunker traders to secure new business and maintain client relationships, while also developing their own portfolio of customers and suppliers. The role will involve active brokering and trading on behalf of clients, with a focus on securing competitive rates.
The position will require the candidate to become familiar with customers, suppliers, barge operators, port authorities and surveyors, and to act as a reliable point of contact for client requests and transactions. Day-to-day duties will also include market research and prospecting for new business, as well as providing pre-sale, pre-delivery and post-delivery support.
Sing Fuels is looking for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in maritime studies, supply chain, economics or a related discipline, along with one to two years of experience in bunker trading, marine fuels, shipping or the wider maritime industry.
Among the qualifications listed, Sing Fuels says it is seeking applicants with a commercial mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
