Global Risk Management forms new board of directors


Move is linked to Global Risk recently obtaining a licence as an investment firm.



Oil product hedging specialist, Global Risk Management, has announced that it has formed a new board of directors in connection with recently obtaining a licence with the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) as an investment firm.

The board consists of experienced professionals with skills in board services as well as financial markets. It comprises Keld Demant, chairman of the board and CEO of Bunker Holding; Jesper Klokker Hansen, CFO of Bunker Holding A/S; Jacob Bro Eriksen, CEO and owner of Omni Group 2000; and Kaj Damgaard, owner of KD Management and long-serving manager in the Danish banking sector.

Global Risk said Hans Erik Christensen will continue to serve as managing director of the company, which has changed its VAT number as well as adding the Danish word for investment firm, Fondsmaeglerselskab, to its name in all legally binding documents.

Commenting on the news, Demant remarked: "Along with the license as investment firm, we welcome two new highly skilled Board Members to the Board of Directors. We all have different strengths and hence we complement each other, forming an extremely strong team which will contribute to the continued success and progress of the company."

Board member profiles:

Keld Demant, aged 51

Demant has more than 20 years' experience in managing international firms as well as completing an Executive Management and Board Programme at INSEAD supplemented by shipping training at Oxford University and Lorange Institute. Demant has been chairman of the board at Global Risk Management since 2015, prior to which he was a board member from 2010.

Jesper Klokker Hansen, aged 53

Hansen has served as CFO and Finance Director at international compannies and has been a board member at Global Risk Management since 2010. He holds a diploma in business administration and economics supplemented by Executive Management Programme at INSEAD and Columbia Business School.

Jacob Bro Eriksen, aged 52

Eriksen has worked for investment firms over a period of 30 years, both in management positions as well as a board member. He has a master's degree in economics and business administration.

Kaj Damgaard, aged 63

Damgaard is owner of KD Management and for many years has served as manager in the Danish banking sector and at board level for financial businesses. He has a diploma in business administration.
