Bunker One, a subsidiary of Bunker Holding, is recruiting an oil derivatives trader to be based at its Houston office, according to a job posting by the firm.
The role is aimed at strengthening the derivatives hedging function that supports Bunker One's physical fuel supply and trading operations along the US Gulf Coast, where the company works with vessels to deliver fuel oil, distillates and blended products to shipping customers.
The derivatives trader would work alongside the local physical trading and sales team, providing hedging solutions for physical exposure while collaborating with sister business Global Risk Management — whose derivatives trading teams are based in Denmark and Singapore.
Responsibilities listed in the posting include implementing derivatives pricing and hedging strategies, executing trading strategies across both proprietary and client deal flows, marking forward curves, and assisting in the risk management of global trading books covering oil and gas and biofuels during US trading hours.
Bunker One is seeking candidates with two to three years of experience trading fuel or distillate derivatives with profit and loss responsibility, gained at a bank, financial institution or physical trading house. Knowledge of biofuels and transition fuels is listed as an advantage. The company said it would also consider less experienced applicants with a strong interest in oil derivatives and the capacity to learn.
Candidates interested in the role, can apply here. They must hold valid US work authorization or be willing to relocate to Houston. Enquiries should been directed to Marios Stathis, head of oil trading, at the company's Danish headquarters.
