Aegean takes delivery of bunker tanker

New-build will be deployed to the company's UAE service center.

International marine fuel and lubricants supplier Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc. has today announced that it has taken delivery of the Patmos, a 6,280 dwt double-hull bunkering tanker newbuild from Qingdao Hyundai Shipyard in China. The Patmos will be deployed to the company's U.A.E. service center.

Including the Patmos, Aegean now boasts a current bunkering delivery fleet of 30 vessels and barges, of which 25 are double hull. The Company expects to take delivery of 22 remaining double-hull tanker newbuilds over the next two years, which will increase its total bunkering delivery fleet to 52.

Commenting on the company's latest vessel acquisition, E. Nikolas Tavlarios, President, said, "We are very pleased to announce the delivery of our first bunkering tanker newbuild from Qingdao Hyundai Shipyard in China and our fifth newbuilding to date this year.

"By significantly increasing our modern double-hull fleet, Aegean has once again strengthened its ability to take advantage of the regulatory phase out of single-hull vessels.

"As we continue to execute our well-capitalized growth plan, we expect to take delivery of two additional double-hull bunkering tanker newbuilds in 2008 and further increase sales volumes in both the near term and long term."
