LNG liquefaction facility opened in Texas

100,000-gallon-per-day facility to provide fuel to various industries, including marine.

Stabilis Energy has announced the official opening of its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in George West, Texas. The plant has a production capacity of 100,000 gallons per day and is intended to provide LNG for high horsepower engines on Texan oilfields as well as for other industries, including shipping.

The George West facility has a storage capacity of 270,000 gallons, and also includes two truck loading racks reportedly capable of loading two transport trailers in under an hour.

Speaking in a press release, Stabilis Energy CEO Casey Crenshaw explained the company's motivation for opening the facility, saying: "Despite recent declines in oil prices, Stabilis can provide LNG fuel that is cost competitive with diesel."

Stabilis Energy has its headquarters in Beaumont, Texas. The company produces, distributes, and markets LNG for high horsepower applications in several different industries. Stabilis Energy also offers logistics, field service support, and transportation services.
