GAC Bunker Fuels names Business Development Manager


Ashan Silva to drive expansion in the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Indian Subcontinent.



Ashan Silva [pictured] has been appointed by GAC Bunker Fuels Ltd. as its new Business Development Manager for the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Indian Subcontinent, based in Dubai.

He brings a wealth of shipping experience to his new role having worked at sea for eleven years before coming ashore to take on management roles, most recently as General Manager Operations for GAC in Sri Lanka.

Nicholas Browne, Global Director of GAC Bunker Fuels, said: "GAC prides itself on its commitment to operational excellence, and Ashan’s understanding of the region and full spectrum of customer requirements for any port call will be invaluable. He will work with our experienced trading team to give a greater number of existing GAC customers access to competitively priced, quality-assured bunkering solutions, wherever they are."

The headquarters of GAC Bunker Fuels is in Dubai, UAE, and it covers all regions and time zones throughout its offices in the USA, UK, Norway, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Singapore. It became ISO 9001 certified for bunker and lubricant trading in March 2013.
