Pacific International Lines (PIL), the Singapore-headquartered container shipping line, is recruiting a senior manager of marine fuel services to oversee the global procurement and supply strategy for marine fuels, lubricants, and related services across its operated fleet.
The role, advertised on LinkedIn, is based in Singapore and requires a minimum of 10 years’ experience in marine fuels, or related shipping or energy sectors.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and implement global procurement strategies, monitor fuel and lubricant markets, identify alternative bunker ports to strengthen supply chain resilience, and mitigate risks associated with price volatility and supply disruptions. The role also encompasses vendor management, contract negotiation, and close collaboration with internal departments including operations, fleet, sustainability, and finance.
The position also carries responsibility for cost optimisation, supply reliability, and compliance with industry standards, including International Maritime Organization (IMO) and regional environmental regulations.
Candidates are expected to hold a degree in maritime studies, business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field, and to demonstrate commercial acumen in areas including global fleet fuel procurement, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
Incorporated in 1967, PIL says it operates a fleet of 100 container and multipurpose vessels. The carrier describes itself as the largest homegrown container shipping line in Southeast Asia, with a focus on trades connecting Asia, China, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Oceania, and the Pacific Islands.
PIL also operates affiliated companies Mariana Express Lines (MELL) and Malaysia Shipping Corporation, as well as business units covering container manufacturing, depot operations, and logistics services.
