Peninsula seeks bunker sales trader for Dubai office


Firm says role would suit candidate with previous trading experience, ideally within the bunker sector or maritime industry.

Bunker seller Peninsula has posted a vacancy for a sales trader based in Dubai, according to a LinkedIn listing published on 21 July,

The role, listed under the company's sales and marketing department, calls for a candidate to engage in the purchase and sale of marine fuel and associated products, while managing a portfolio of counterparties, fostering longstanding relationships and maintaining what the company describes as "a risk-aware perspective with regard to credit risk and payment performance".

According to the job post, the position would suit a candidate with prior trading experience, ideally within the bunker sector or the wider maritime industry.

Responsibilities include proactively marketing to new and existing customers, supporting inbound enquiries from other regional offices within the Peninsula Petroleum Group, and monitoring counterparty credit risk in conjunction with the company's credit team. The role also requires the trader to analyse market conditions, negotiate deals and process orders.

The ideal candidate should possess business-level English, with knowledge of Hindi or Arabic described as desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong verbal and written communication skills are also listed as requirements.

The company adds that it is looking for an individual who is "ambitious, self-motivated" and willing to develop their knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis.

According to the online job post, which is no longer accepting invitations, there have been a total of four applicants for the role.
