VPS has launched Maress 2.0, an upgraded version of its digital maritime performance platform that monitors main engine and emissions equipment performance for offshore vessels.

The platform, which is used by almost 700 vessels, has been enhanced with new analytics capabilities, high-resolution vessel insights, and a data validation engine, according to the company's announcement on December 3.

The upgraded system allows users to compare vessels across fleets or track individual vessel performance over time. It includes integrated data validation and smart notifications designed to alert users to potential issues before they affect operations or compliance.

Key features of Maress 2.0 include improved analytics with flexible time-period comparisons, integrated daily weather insights, year-on-year baseline comparisons, support for alternative fuels including biofuels, and a voyage replay function showing weather, activities, and efficiency indicators.

The platform has also added a Data Quality & MRV Validation module, an optional Advanced Energy Analytics add-on, and what VPS describes as a future-proof architecture with an adaptive user interface.

"With Maress 2.0, we're strengthening a platform already used by nearly 700 vessels and connecting the Offshore Eco system worldwide," said Jan Wilhelmsson, COO Digital & Decarbonisation at VPS. "This release delivers smarter analytics, cleaner data, and a future-proof design that helps our customers sail smarter and perform better with confidence."

The platform automatically validates incoming data and sends personalized notifications when anomalies are detected. According to VPS, this is designed to prevent errors such as submitting MRV/DCS reports based on inaccurate information.

The system provides visibility from fleet-level trends to individual thruster performance, targeting vessel owners, managers, operators, and charterers.

VPS operates through five laboratories and provides testing and inspection services to the maritime industry. The company also offers marine decarbonisation testing and advisory services.
