Monjasa seeks bunker trader in Panama


Ideal candidate will have at least five years' sales experience and be fluent in Spanish.



Monjasa Americas (Panama) is looking to employ an experienced bunker trader at its office in Panama City.

According to Monjasa, the ideal candidate will have at least five years' sales experience, will be fluent in Spanish and English, and will have previously worked in the maritime or oil industry.

The primary role of the person selected for the job will be day-to-day trading in Monjasa's physical supply team. They will be tasked with developing and negotiating spot business and long-term client contracts, and promoting Monjasa's physical supply network.

Monjasa is looking to employ someone that is detail-oriented with a good business understanding; an excellent communicator and negotiator that sees cold canvassing as a motivational part of the job.

Key areas of responsibility:

- Developing and maintaining a solid portfolio with strong relations in Panama

- Developing and negotiating spot business and long-term client contract solutions on all levels

- Promoting Monjasa's physical supply network and focus areas

- Optimising logistics, sourcing and costs

- Ensuring optimal client satisfaction by providing specialist advice in bunker solutions, smooth coordination of fuel supply and solving claims/disputes

Professional skills - the ideal candidate:

- Experience in the shipping, maritime, or oil industry

- A good network within the shipping community is an advantage

- 5+ years of sales experience (with documented results) preferred

- Fluent in written/oral Spanish and English

Personal skills - the ideal candidate:

- A quick decision maker

- Detail-oriented with good business understanding

- Sees cold canvassing as a motivational part of your job

- An excellent communicator and negotiator

- Independent but also a good team player
