Allantone administrator offers six vessels for sale

Six bunker supply vessels are being offered for sale by the administrator of UK firm Allantone Supplies Ltd.

UK firm George Hazell & Co Ltd. - a company that specializes in valuing and selling assets and in advising companies on the insolvency and business recovery process - has informed Bunker Index that it is handling the sale of all six of the bunker delivery vessels owned by marine fuel supply company Allantone Supplies Ltd..

Allantone is in administration and, as a result, the following vessels are being offered for sale:

M/T Culex

M/T Musca

M/T Sauria

M/T Naja

M/T Rana

M/T Waterman

Further details on each of the vessels listed above can be found by visiting www.allantone.co.uk/our-fleet.

Allantone is a family-run business, headed by directors Anthony and David Lenton. It is one of the oldest names in physical marine bunker deliveries to ships in the UK.

Based in Harwich, Essex, and operating predominantly in the South East of the UK, Allantone has been supplying marine gas oil (MGO) to vessels for several years. The company has also been a supplier of inland fuels and marine lubricants.

In the 1990s, Nynas - a Swedish manufacturer of specialty naphthenic oil and asphalt products - used to supply marine diesel oil (MDO) in the Thames area using barges operated by Allantone, but later withdrew from the market.

Allantone continued to trade on its own account using two 300 metric tonne (mt) capacity gas oil barges on the Thames: the Conveyor and Onward Mariner.

Allantone also used to carry out deliveries with the Delstor, but the vessel was later used to store products due to its age.

In Plymouth, Allantone used to operate the Bouncer (formerly known as Conocoast) under contract to Conoco Ltd.

The company's main supply areas have been: Coryton, Fowey, London, Par, Plymouth, Sheerness, Thamesport and Tilbury.

In recent years, Allantone has seen increased competition in Southern England. Aegean North-West Europe recently launched marine supply operations in Ramsgate, the Isle of Wight and Falmouth. Cockett Marine Oil began carrying out deliveries on the Thames in 2009. The company operates a bunkers-only facility, supplying vessels transiting the English Channel.

Companies interested in purchasing the aforementioned bunker vessels should contact George Hazell & Co Ltd. - the company handling the sale of Allantone's assets. Contact details have been provided below.
