'Excellent start' for Dan-Bunkering in Beijing

Company says it is seeing 'a lot of new opportunities' in the Chinese market.

Leading bunker trader A/S Dan-Bunkering Ltd. - part of United Shipping & Trading Company (USTC) group - says its new operation in Beijing has "experienced an excellent start".

"The office has now been open for a few months and the positive feedback from the industry has been a great support," Dan-Bunkering said in a statement.

"With the current staff of two - and looking to hire more - there is plenty of room to grow, and we are seeing a lot of new opportunities in the Chinese shipping market," remarked Dave Zheng, Manager of Dan-Bunkering's Beijing office.

In addition to Dave Zheng, Dena Kong works as marketing officer at the recently-launched representative office in Beijing. The business also has offices in Denmark, Monaco, Kaliningrad, Houston, Singapore and Shanghai. It is also due to open an office in Dubai in July.

Commenting on the launch of the Beijing operation in April, Dan-Bunkering said: "The latest addition in Beijing will help provide the customers in the Chinese region with even better local and worldwide knowledge."

Søren Pedersen, head of Dan-Bunkering’s operations in China remarked last month: "Beijing is the first step in our expansion in China, which will continue in the coming years with additional offices. To support Dan-Bunkering’s growth strategy we expect to hire more qualified people in the near future."
