Brent vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of Brent crude vs the BIX global bunker price.



The average global bunker price decreased at a higher rate than Brent crude in October 2012, according to Bunker Index price data.

The Brent settlement average fell by $1.56 per barrel, or 1.38 percent, to $111.47 per barrel in the month of October. However, during the same period, the BIX global bunker average declined by $19.14 per tonne, or 2.2 percent, to $833.94 per tonne.

Since the end of 2011, the Brent average is now up $3.75 per barrel, or 3.48 percent, from $107.72 to $111.47 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has risen $15.76 per tonne, or 1.93 percent, from $818.18 to $833.94 per tonne.
