BP remains top supplier in Singapore


Top 20 bunker suppliers at the world's leading port are revealed.



BP Singapore Pte Ltd. has been named the port of Singapore's leading bunker supplier by volume in 2010, according to data released by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA).

In a list of the 20 top bunker suppliers at the world's largest bunker port last year, BP Singapore retained the position of leading supplier for the eighth year in a row.

The leading three supply companies from 2009 continued to be the three top bunker firms last year with ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. and SK Energy International Pte. Ltd. remaining the second and third largest suppliers in the city-state.

Companies to rise up the list were Aegean Bunkering (S) Pte. Ltd. and Chemoil International Pte. Ltd. - both improving their positions in the Top 10 compared to the previous year.

Both Singapore Petroleum Company Ltd. and Searights Maritime Services Pte. Ltd. also improved on their positions last year to enter the Top 10 list.

O.W. Bunker Far East (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. rose up the list five places to enter the Top 15 for the first time.

Companies to enter/re-enter the Top 20 were Hai Yin Marine Ptd Ltd., Gas Trade (S) Ptd Ltd. and Singamas Petroleum Trading Pte Ltd. Gas Trade (S) Ptd Ltd. was the 20th largest supplier in 2008 but had dropped out of the Top 20 list in 2009.

Meanwhile, Ocean Bunkering Services (Pte.) Ltd., Chevron Singapore Pte. Ltd. and Glencore Singapore Pte. Ltd. failed to make last year's list.

Bunker sales in Singapore reached a new record of 40.9 million tonnes in 2010. The figure surpassed the previous year's record of 36.4 million tonnes by 12.3 percent.
