BIX global average up 1.7% in August


Average monthly global bunker price increases for the first time since April 2010.

The average monthly Bunker Index (BIX) price rose by $9.87 per tonne, or 1.7 percent, during the month of August compared to the previous month, according to latest Bunker Index price data.

The BIX global monthly average increased to $580.64 per tonne last month, up from $570.77 per tonne in July.
