Bunker service launched in Pakistan

New bunker delivery service at Karachi, Gawader and Port Muhammad Bin Qasim.

Pakistan's Ocean Bunkers has announced the launch of its new bunker delivery service at Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Port Karachi and Port Gawader.

The new company is headed by experienced marine fuels professional Muhammad Yousuf, who has been involved in the bunker industry since 1994.

Yousuf held the position of Director, International Marine Sales at Karachi-based Orion Bunkers, where he was also a partner and responsible for financial matters.

In a statement, Yousuf said Ocean Bunkers had been set up to take advantage of the growing bunkering industry in Pakistan, using his extensive experience in the marine fuels business.

According to Ocean Bunkers, the company has an exclusive partnership with supply source Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited, which is a refinery and a major source of bunker fuels in Pakistan.

"This arrangement is the first of its kind in the country which ensures uninterrupted supply of quality fuels to Ocean Bunkers direct from a refining source. We are proud to announce that no other bunker supplier in the country holds such an arrangement," Ocean Bunkers stated.

Ocean Bunkers said that it provides a round-the-clock marine fuel service with a fixed bunker price agreement, which enables them to offer competitive prices compared to other suppliers in the local market.

The company has this week begun carrying out bunker deliveries to fishing trawlers and other ocean-going crafts using company-owned self-propelled barges.
