Petrobras to provide Material Safety Data Sheets

MSDS documentation to be provided for deliveries of all grades of marine fuel.

Brazilian bunker supplier Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras) S.A. has announced that as from July 1st it will begin to provide MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) documentation for deliveries of all grades of fuels and marine gas oil.

The new MSDS policy is in line with the new guidelines adopted by the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Maritime Safety Committee, which met for its 86th Session on 27 May - 5 June 2009.

The MSDSs will have to be provided to ships carrying MARPOL Annex I cargoes, and to all vessels when receiving bunker deliveries.
