Proteus Supply and Trading, LLC and Propeller Fuels Ltd have announced a commercial partnership that commenced on 1 July, combining physical marine fuel supply operations in Florida with an international trading and supply network.
Proteus, based in the United States, began operations in 2017 as a marine gas oil (MGO) supplier focused on the South Florida market, serving the commercial shipping and yachting sectors. According to the company, it has completed approximately 3,800 claim-free supplies at its supply ports — principally Miami and Port Everglades — since that time.
Propeller Fuels, headquartered in the UK, operates as a bunker supplier with a trading business and offices in Greece, Dubai and Singapore, in addition to its UK base. The partnership is designed to give Propeller Fuels a physical operational presence in Florida and broader trading coverage across the Americas, including the US East Coast, the Caribbean, the US Gulf Coast and South America.
Russell Stellman, managing partner of Proteus Supply and Trading, stated: "With nearly 3,800 claim-free supplies since 2017 in our supply ports, we are proud of the excellent performance of our team and the satisfaction of our global customer base. We look forward to continuing and growing that success with our partners, Propeller Fuels."
Robert Thompson, CEO of Propeller Fuels, said: "We are delighted with this partnership, with people we have known and trusted for many years. It augments our continued growth and development and gives our group a presence in the important Americas market, something which was always in our business growth plan. Doing so with a physical proposition, serving many high-level blue-chip clients, is all the better. We intend to provide Proteus with the resources to further expand its excellent value-added service into other areas and to support the group with expansion in the wider Americas markets."
