Flex Commodities has appointed Vinoth Kumar as general accountant, the Dubai-based bunker trading company announced on 20 July.

Kumar brings accounting experience from previous positions based in the the UAE and India, with a background spanning financial reporting, month-end close, IFRS compliance, intercompany reconciliations, audit support and multi-entity accounting. He is also an ACCA Strategic Professional finalist.

In his new role, Kumar will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company's financial operations, ensuring timely reporting and supporting statutory compliance across the group, Flex Commodities said.

The addition of Kumar follows the recent Dubai appointment of Milind Homkar — a chartered accountant and certified information systems auditor with more than 20 years of experience in financial controls, fraud investigation and business control — as trade controller in June.

And earlier this month, Flex Commodities' UAE office also hired Khushi Vakil as compliance analyst — an appointee with close to five years of regulatory compliance experience at Morgan Stanley.

Flex Commodities is a marine fuels trading and cargo logistics business with staff based in Greece, South Korea, Singapore and UAE.
