Experienced Americas specialist joins Glander International Bunkering


Maurice Lara has over seven years' experience of trading and broking in the Americas.



Glander International Bunkering, a company specializing in bunker and lubricant trading and brokering, has announced the appointment of Maurice Lara [pictured] as Bunker and Lubricant Broker/Trader.

Lara brings with him over seven years of experience in the bunker industry. His specialist areas are the United States, Canada, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Prior to joining Glander, Lara was employed at GAC Bunker Fuels as Bunker Manager for East Coast USA between 2012 and 2014.

He also served for five years as a marine fuel broker and trader at OceanConnect / Chemoil Energy Ltd between 2007 and 2012.

Before joining the bunker industry in 2007, Lara's background (between 1997 and 2007) was in domestic and international logistics, vessel chartering and negotiating charter party agreements and end-to-end commodity transportation. He worked for Greenwich Metals, Inc.; Penoles Metals and Chemicals, Inc.; Louis Dreyfus Commodities; International Commodities Transportation Services, Inc.; and Gerald Metals, Inc.

Lara holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a minor in Philosophy, is proficient in English and Spanish is said to have "a good understanding" of Portuguese.
