The average global bunker price fell at a less significant rate than Brent crude during the month of September, according to Bunker Index (BIX) and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) price data.

The Brent settlement average decreased by $4.83 per barrel, or 4.67 percent, to $98.57 per barrel in the month of September. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average was down $15.61 per tonne, or 2.03 percent, to $753.82 per tonne.

Since September 2013, the Brent monthly average has fallen by $12.68 per barrel, or 11.40 percent, from $111.25 to $98.57 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has declined by $45.43 per tonne, or 5.68 percent, from $799.25 to $753.82 per tonne.
