Petrobras launches bunker barge in Rio de Janeiro


New delivery vessel has a storage capacity of 2,300 metric tonnes.



Brazilian bunker supplier Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras) S.A. has today announced the launch of its new barge, MV Luiz Rebelo I, at the port of Rio de Janeiro.

In an emailed statement, Petrobras said that the new double-hulled vessel had been added in order to improve its bunker delivery service at Rio de Janeiro, "where the bunker price is now more competitive compared with other brazilian ports."

Petrobras confirmed that the new barge has a storage capacty of 2,300 metric tonnes. It has been operating at Rio de Janeiro since the beginning of this month.
