China: Fuel oil stocks decline in coastal areas

Inventories of fuel oil decrease at oil facilities over one-week period.

Stocks of fuel oil at major oil terminals in China's coastal areas fell by 190,000 tonnes, or 5.5 percent, to 3.27 million tonnes, on Wednesday July 10 compared to the previous week, ICIS reports.

Fuel oil inventories in Shandong province decreased by 220,000 tonnes to 1.06 million tonnes during the 7-day period. A 150,000-tonne cargo of 380-centistoke (cst) fuel oil was reported to have arrived at Qingdao, and other ports only posted small import volumes.

In East China, commercial stocks rose by 50,000 tonnes to 537,000 tonnes. This was said to have been mainly due to the shipment of a 90,000-tonne cargo of bonded bunker fuel oil to Shanghai from Singapore.

Meanwhile, inventories of fuel oil in South China declined by 20,000 tonnes to 1.66-1.68 million tonnes compared to a week ago.

The total storage capacity of the tank farms used to compile the data was 6.787 million cubic metres.
