Sinopec signs lube supply agreements

China's largest refiner inks marine lubricant deals with shipping companies.

China's largest oil refiner China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) has signed new marine lubricant supply deals with four of the country's major shipping firms.

The new cooperation agreements are with China Merchants Group, COSCO Group, China Shipping Group and China National Foreign Trade Transportation (Group).

Sinopec had already signed agreements with the aforementioned companies in August 2009. The latest agreement is a further indication that Sinopec intends to strengthen its ties with the four shipping heavyweights in the marine lubricants sector.

Sinopec operates its lube oil business under the brand names of Great Wall and SINOPEC.
