Aegean takes delivery of 10th bunker tanker

Vessel represents the tenth double-hull newbuild delivered in 2009.

Leading bunker supplier Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc. has announced that it has taken delivery of the Paxoi, a 5,500 dwt double-hull bunkering tanker newbuild from Qingdao Hyundai Shipyard in China.

The vessel is expected to be deployed to the Company's market located in the U.K.

Commenting on the news, E. Nikolas Tavlarios, President, said, "With the delivery of the Paxoi, Aegean continues to execute its well-capitalized growth strategy and strengthen its leading competitive position. This vessel represents the 10th double-hull bunkering vessel delivered in 2009 and the 20th since Aegean's IPO in December 2006.

"By significantly expanding our high-quality logistics infrastructure, we have further enhanced our ability to take advantage of the regulatory phase-out of single-hull tankers and increase our global market share for the physical supply of marine fuel."
