Monjasa is seeking to hire a trader for its New York office, according to a job posting by the Denmark-headquartered bunker company.

The role, which has an application deadline of 21 September, would see the successful candidate join one of Monjasa's key commercial hubs in the Americas.

The new hire would be expected to manage their own portfolio of customers and suppliers from day one, negotiate deals, and oversee the full trading cycle from purchase to delivery of bunker fuel. The position also involves daily execution of spot purchases and sales, logistical coordination of fuel deliveries, and collaboration with the company’s compliance and credit teams.

Monjasa said the role is open to candidates with a background in sales, trading, shipping, logistics or other commercial fields, and noted that experience in the bunker or shipping industry would be an advantage but is not a requirement. Candidates must hold valid authorization to work in the United States.

The company said it values a proactive attitude and a "hunger to compete", alongside analytical ability and relationship-building skills. Fluency in English is required, with a second language listed as advantageous.
