Flex Commodities, the UAE-based bunker trading firm, has appointed Khushi Vakil as compliance analyst (onboarding specialist), according to an announcement published by the company on 8 July.

Vakil joins Flex Commodities with close to five years of regulatory compliance experience at Morgan Stanley, where she worked across employee trading compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence (CDD/EDD) reviews, onboarding compliance, and regulatory monitoring within a global financial services environment.

Prior to her role at Morgan Stanley, she gained experience in equity research and financial markets at the Bombay Stock Exchange, serving as market research analyst.

In her new position, Vakil is expected to contribute to the company's customer and supplier onboarding processes, Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures, sanctions screening, and wider compliance framework.

"With a strong foundation in compliance, risk assessment, and stakeholder collaboration, Khushi will play an important role in strengthening our customer and supplier onboarding, KYC processes, sanctions screening, and compliance framework as we continue to expand our global operations," Vakil's new employer said.

Headquartered in Dubai, Flex Commodities is a marine fuels trading and cargo logistics business with staff also based in Greece, Seoul and Singapore.
