Spanish LNG bunker supplier Gas Natural Fenosa has been rebranded as Naturgy.

In a statement, Naturgy explained that the brand change comes as the company faces new challenges - defined in its Strategic Plan 2018-2022 - where it will be focused on the environment, simplicity, technological innovation, digitalization and globalization.

"Naturgy wants to represent the energy of our nature, as well as a digital and global company that works to improve the lives of people through a simple and natural energy," the Spanish gas firm noted.

Francisco Reynes, president of Naturgy, commented: "We are very aware that the world is changing. Markets, technology, and especially people evolve, and we as a company can not but respond to these challenges, respecting the heritage of our 175 years. With Naturgy, we build an international brand, adapted to all the global markets where we have a presence and where we will have it in the future. After these years of history, we give new impetus to face new commitments, to be closer to our customers wherever they are and to bet on offering simple, simple and respectful solutions with the environment."

"The company does not start from scratch. We are already recognized for being a close energetic and committed to our customers. But from now on we will be even more. We will go further, making life easier for our customers thanks to technology, and satisfying their needs. We will be simpler, more digital and we will worry about being more agile," the president said at the general shareholders' meeting, held in Madrid.

The new brand of the parent company will be Naturgy Energy Group, S.A., whilst the new IBEX35 ticker name will be NTGY.
