Socar launches Ukraine operation


Oil firm starts bunker supply business on the Dnieper River.



The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (Socar) is reported to have launched its new bunker business in the Ukraine.

According to local sources, the bunker vesel Baku-1 was launched at the Kiev ship repair dock during a ceremony that was attended by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the Ukraine Eynulla Madatli and the head of SOCAR Energy Ukraine Elchin Mammadov on Saturday, 27th August.

The vessel will be supplying Socar-branded Nano 95 and Nano diesel marine fuel to ships in the area.

It is understood that this season the company plans to supply to small and medium-sized vessels at Kiev, and those travelling in the waters of the Dnieper River.
