Supplier offers LSFO in Istanbul


Company claims to be the first to offer a 'continuous' supply of 1% max. fuel oil in Istanbul.



CYE Petrol Ticaret Ltd. has begun supplying low sulphur fuel oil with maximum sulphur levels of 1.00 percent at the port of Istanbul.

The company claims to be the first physical bunker supplier in Istanbul to offer a 'continuous' supply of low sulphur fuel oil (LSFO).

In preparation for the expected demand from vessels calling at Istanbul, CYE Petrol has dedicated a shore tank and bunker barge for the supply of LSFO.

CYE Petrol has a fleet of four bunker barges, which are managed by Alasonya Shipping & Trading. They are: M/T Moda-E, M/T Bebek-E, M/T Florya-E and /T Tarabya-E.

Launched in 2008, the M/T Bebek-E is said to be the largest bunker barge in Istanbul. The vessel has a fuel oil storage capacity of 3,330 metric tonnes and a pumping rate of 650 tonnes per hour.

In 2009, CYE Petrol began upgrading its logistics infrastructure for the supply of low sulphur products. This included the segregation of low sulphur materials at its bunker terminal and on its bunker barges.

As of February 2009, the company began storing and supplying low sulphur (0.1 percent) marine gas oil (MGO) from its bunker terminal.

The company supplies marine fuel and lubricants in a number of ports across Turkey, including Istanbul, Izmit, Tekirdag, Bandirma, Ambarli, Eregli, Gemlik, Canakkale and Yarimca.

Since June 2010 CYE Petrol has guaranteed ISO 8217:2010 for all intermediate fuel oil and distillate fuel grades.
