Brent vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of Brent crude vs the BIX global bunker price.



The average global bunker price rose at a slower rate than Brent crude in July 2012, according to Bunker Index price data.

The Brent settlement average increased by $6.79 per barrel, or 7.08 percent, to $102.72 per barrel in the month of July. However, during the same period, the BIX global bunker average climbed $10.62 per tonne, or 1.4 percent, to $785.57 per tonne.

Since the end of 2011, the Brent average has fallen $5.0 per barrel, or 4.64 percent, from $107.72 to $102.72 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has fallen $32.61 per tonne, or 3.99 percent, from $818.18 to $785.57 per tonne.
