New IFO supplier in Colombia

Colombian oil company and bunker supplier Organización Terpel S.A. (Terpel) has revealed that it is now supplying 380-centistoke (cst) fuel at the ports of Cartagena, Santa Marta and Barranquilla.

Speaking to Bunker Index, bunker manager Eugenia Benavides said that Terpel began carrying out deliveries of 380-cst last week.

The company carries out 380-cst blending at Cartagena, where it stores crude oil, marine diesel oil (MDO) and 380-cst in three separate tanks.

In total, Terpel has a storage capacity of 6,000 metric tonnes, which includes distillate storage leased from terminal operator Vopak and two additional MDO tanks at its own storage facility.

Bunker deliveries are carried out by pipeline, road tank wagon (MDO) and barge.

Benavides pointed out that the company's barge has not yet left the dock at Cartagena as it is due to be converted to double hull, however it is able to carry out deliveries from the dock itself.

Terpel also operates as a marine lubricants supplier in Colombia. The company, which supplies a wide range of products including aviation fuel, automotive and industrial lubricants, has, up until now, been stronger in the distillates field than fuel oil, concentrating its activities mainly in the ports of Cartagena and Barranquilla.
