Service Terminal Rotterdam, a subsidiary of Burando Maritime Services, is to increase capacity at its Rotterdam-Botlek storage facility, according to industry sources.

The project to expand the terminal is said to involve the construction of five new storage tanks for crude oil and/or marine fuels. Two of the tanks will have a 53,000 cubic metre (cbm) capacity, one will be able to store 40,000 cbm and the other two will hold 13,000 cbm, sources said.

Vonk Industrial Contracting B.V., a company located in Stellendam, Netherlands, is reported to have been awarded the order for the turnkey supply of the entire project.

Leeuwarden-based Jongia Mixing Technology - a company which supplied many of the mixers that are currently in use at Service Terminal Rotterdam's existing storage tank facility - will also supply the mixes for the new expansion project, reports said.
