Tripoli closed until September


Bunkering activities expected to resume in around 12 days' time once port is reopened.

By order of the local authorities and with immediate effect, the port of Tripoli has been closed to all commercial activities as of today and until September 3rd 2009, according to local industry sources.

All ships currently in the port are being sent to anchorage until the port is re-opened.

The port has been closed due to the current and forthcoming events being held in Tripoli, namely the OAU Conference and the national festivities being held to celebrate the Libyan Revolution.

National Day will be held on Tuesday 1st September.

The supply of marine fuels is expected to resume in around 12 days' time on or around September 6th-7th.
