New Times Shipbuilding has held a launch ceremony for two 155,500-DWT LNG dual-fuel crude oil tankers at its yard in Jiangsu, China.

The ceremony took place on 7 September, with the two vessels — carrying builder’s hull numbers 0315848 and 0315874 — launched for separate Greece-based firms. The first vessel is being built for Maran Tankers Management, while the second is destined for Capital Ship Management Corp, with both designed to run on LNG as an alternative fuel.

Representatives from New Times Shipbuilding, the respective owners and classification societies attended the event.

New Times Shipbuilding, based in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province, is part of China’s Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group.

Maran Tankers Management (MTM) is the oil-tanker shipping and vessel-management arm of Greece’s Angelicoussis Group. Established in 1992, it manages and operates a global fleet of crude-oil tankers — including VLCCs, Suezmaxes and Aframaxes.

Capital Ship Management operates a diversified fleet comprising crude and product tankers — including VLCC, Suezmax, Aframax/LR2 and MR/Handy vessels — as well as dry-bulk carriers and container ships.
